क्यों पॉलीटेक्निक में एडमिशन लेने की eligibility Criteria केवल Class 10th Pass करना होता है (A Group) तथा eligibility criteria Class 12th Pass करना होता है जिसे (K Group) कहते है। और इस ग्रुप में स्टूडेंट्स को Polytechnic 2nd Year (lateral entry) द्वारा एडमिशन दिया जाता हैं।

पर ऐसे में अगर बात करे उन स्टूडेंट्स की जो class 10th pass कर के पॉलीटेक्निक कॉलेज में आते हैं। उन्हें धोड़ी बहुत दिकते आती है क्योंकि उनके लिए कुछ विषय नए होते है जिन्हें वो अपने क्लास में पढ़े नही होते है अथार्त Applied Mathematics 1st और Applied Mathematics 2nd यह दोनों ही विषय मिलती जुलती होतीं है Class 11th और Class 12th के Syllabus से  और इन्हीं वजहों से कही न कही वो स्टूडेंट्स जो class 12th pass कर के admission लेते है उन्हें थोड़ी आसानी होती है दोनों विषयों को समझने में पर यह बातें उनके लिए है जो स्टूडेंट्स अपने Class 11th में PCM Group चुना होगा।

क्योंकि पॉलीटेक्निक संस्था में एडमिशन लेने वाला छात्र जरूरी नही की वह PCM Group का ही हो, बहुत से स्टूडेंट्स ऐसे भी होते है जिन्होंने Biology, Commerce, Arts साइड से हो उन्हें भी बहुत ही आसानी से एडमिशन मिल जाता है।

इसलिए ऐसे स्टूडेंट्स जो PCM Groups के नही होते उन्हें यह विषय पढ़ते समय दिकते आती है।
